1 Introduction
Welcome to TradieTasker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TradieTasker platform as a tradie (service provider). By creating an account and using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully before using the platform.
TradieTasker connects customers with skilled tradespeople. As a tradie, you are an independent contractor and not an employee of TradieTasker. These Terms outline your rights, responsibilities, and obligations when using our platform.
2 Eligibility & Registration
2.1 Eligibility Requirements
To register as a tradie on TradieTasker, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold valid qualifications and licenses for your trade
- Have valid insurance coverage (public liability and professional indemnity)
- Provide accurate and complete information in your profile
- Maintain a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) or equivalent
2.2 Account Verification
You agree to provide documents for verification including:
- Government-issued ID (passport or driver's license)
- Trade qualifications and certifications
- Insurance certificates
- ABN registration
- Police check (if required)
Failure to provide verification documents may result in account suspension.
3 Tradie Responsibilities
3.1 Professional Conduct
As a tradie on our platform, you agree to:
- Provide high-quality workmanship and professional service
- Communicate clearly and promptly with customers
- Arrive on time for scheduled jobs
- Complete work within agreed timelines
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude
- Follow all safety regulations and industry standards
3.2 Profile Maintenance
You are responsible for keeping your profile up-to-date, including:
- Contact information and location
- Skills, services, and specializations
- Portfolio and photos of completed work
- Availability and service areas
- Pricing and rates
4 Payments & Fees
4.1 Credit System
TradieTasker operates on a credit-based system for job applications:
- Standard job applications: 1 credit
- Urgent or premium jobs: 2 credits
- Credits never expire
- Credits are non-refundable once used
4.2 Service Fees
When you complete a job through our platform:
- A service fee of 10% is deducted from the total job value
- This fee covers platform maintenance, support, and payment processing
- You receive payment for completed jobs via the escrow system
- Payments are processed within 24-48 hours of customer confirmation
4.3 Payment Processing
Payment processing is handled securely through our platform:
- Funds are held in escrow until job completion
- Withdrawals can be made to your bank account or PayPal
- Minimum withdrawal amount is $50 AUD
- Processing time: 2-5 business days
5 Job Performance
5.1 Job Acceptance
When you accept a job, you commit to:
- Contacting the customer within 24 hours
- Providing an accurate timeline for completion
- Sticking to the agreed-upon price
- Completing the work to a high standard
5.2 Job Changes & Cancellations
If changes are needed:
- Communicate any changes to the customer immediately
- Get written approval for any price or scope changes
- If you need to cancel, inform the customer and support team as early as possible
- Frequent cancellations may lead to account review
6 Customer Communication
Maintaining professional communication with customers is essential:
- All communication should be conducted through the platform
- Respond to customer inquiries within 2-4 hours
- Be respectful and professional at all times
- Provide regular updates on job progress
- Share photos or videos of work progress when possible
- Request feedback and reviews upon job completion
7 Quality & Standards
7.1 Work Quality
All work must meet industry standards:
- Use quality materials and proper techniques
- Follow building codes and regulations
- Obtain necessary permits when required
- Leave worksites clean and tidy
- Provide warranties for your work where applicable
7.2 Safety Compliance
Safety is paramount:
- Wear appropriate safety gear and PPE
- Follow all workplace safety regulations
- Report any safety hazards immediately
- Maintain valid insurance at all times
8 Dispute Resolution
8.1 Dispute Process
If a dispute arises, follow these steps:
- Try to resolve the issue directly with the customer
- Escalate to our support team if unable to resolve
- Provide all relevant documentation and evidence
- Cooperate fully during the investigation
- Accept our final decision, which is binding
8.2 Protection
We protect both parties through:
- Escrow payment system
- Transparent communication records
- Fair dispute resolution process
- Customer and tradie verification
9 Termination
9.1 Termination by Tradie
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Any pending payments will be processed, and your profile will be deactivated.
9.2 Termination by TradieTasker
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent or deceptive practices
- Consistently poor performance or negative reviews
- Abusive or unprofessional behavior
- Failure to maintain required qualifications or insurance
Acceptance of Terms
By using the TradieTasker platform as a tradie, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TradieTasker.
